INTRODUCTION

There are many Madaaris in our country those are root cause of our religious education for Muslims. Moreover, they are producing Researchers, Teachers, Khateebs, Ulamaa’s and Scholars and Darul Uloom Islamabad is one of those Madaaris.

Maulana Zia Ullah Khan Dubandi founded Darul Uloom Islamabad in year 1981 under Jamiyyat Asha’at Al-Tauheed-W-Al-Sunnah, Pakistan. It is one of the greatest religious educational institutions of Pakistan, situated in the capital city of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as a memorial of a very well known and great international religious scholar Shaikh-ul-Quran Maulana Ghulam Ullah Khan.

Darul Uloom was registered in October 1981, as Islamic religious institute with the Government of Pakistan, under the societies registration act, XXXI of 1860, and its registration number is RS/ICT/7. It is affiliated with “WIFAQ UL MADARIS AL-ARABIA PAKISTAN” in all its educational programs, which awards degrees after the commission of examinations. The degrees issued are equivalent to university degrees and recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Catering for over three hundred students coming from far-flung areas to quench the thirst of knowledge. Over 15 capable, working and experienced teachers and full time working staff look after all the activities of students.

The academic courses composed to be able to understand Arabic, Persian, Urdu and English languages and grammars, learn principles, meaning and commentary of Holy Quran, Holy verdicts of the Prophet (up to Daura-E-Hadith) and Islamic law in detail along with training in expression, teachings in practical life.

Darul Uloom owns the responsibility to provide education, accommodation, meals, medical treatment free of cost along with monthly scholarships (only for Daura-E-Hadith class) to the registered students.

Darul Uloom consists of a double story building with over 35 classrooms, residential room, offices and lush green garden, decorated with seasonal flowers.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES:

• To produce Muslim scholars who have full command on the knowledge of the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh and the basic principles of Islam.
• To propagate the knowledge of the Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqh and the basic principles of Islam to Muslims all over the world.
• To create a forum of skilled Islamic scholars with mission to motivate Muslims to mould their individual lives & the society around according to the dictates of Islam.
• To acquaint Ulama with the challenges of the modern age, for effective communication of the message of Islam to the people all over the world.
• To fulfill all obligations for the personal care & spiritual grooming of the students & the other associates of Darul Uloom.
• Preservation of basic Islamic knowledge by learning the Holy books of Islam by heart.
• Understanding of Islam from its original sources by learning & teaching Arabic grammar and language deeply.
• Preparing competent teachers and preachers of Islam.
• To make the students to be able like a true Muslim and symbol of Islam.
• Research to guide the Muslims in their day-to-day activities.
• Perform leading roll in every field of modern life of society.
• Safeguard the real theme of Islam from attacks of various cheaters, disguises and misguidance.
• Alleviate misconceptions against Islam & its followers.
• Along with the proficiency in Islamic subjects preparing young students, depending on their aptitude, in other sections of religious activity such as teaching, literary pursuits and IFTA (religious verdicts).
• Training ‘Ulama and students for propagating Islam on international level.
• Dissemination of the knowledge of Quran and Sunnah to enable the students to think and act accordingly.
• Training ‘Ulama and students for propagating Islam on international level.
• Co-operation with other religious institutions in all sections of religious activities.
• Co-operation with other movements struggling for the glory of Islam.
• Revitalization / Restoration of past glory and unity amongst the Muslims.
• Making efforts to reduce the tension between the various schisms amongst Muslims and infuse the spirit of brotherhood irrespective of color, caste and country.

Academic Courses & Degrees:

Following courses are offered to the students for successful completion of their studies; receive the relevant Certificates/Degrees.

• Shahada-tul-Hifz Al-Quran
• Shahada-tul-Mutawassita                  (Equivalent to Middle)
• Shahada-tul-Sanvia Al-Aamah         (Equivalent to Secondary School Certificate)
• Shahada-tul-Sanvia Al-Khasa          (Equivalent to Higher Secondary School Certificate)
• Shahada-tul-Aaliah                             (Equivalent to B.A.)
• Shahada-tul-Aalamiah                       (Equivalent to M.A. Arabic/Islamiyat)

REFRESHER COURSES:

In order to enhance the capability of students during annual vacations, refresher courses of Arabic Grammar (Daura-E-Surf & Daura-E-Nahve) are conducted for internal and external students.

ACADEMIC YEAR & ADMISSIONS:

Like all over the country, the academic year of Darul Uloom Islamabad, also starts from the 10th of Shawwal, while new admissions also start with the same date.

EXAMINATIONS:

There are three examinations in the academic year of the Darul Uloom Islamabad which are as follows (as per the instruction of Wifaq-ul-Madaaris, Al-Arabia, Multan (PAKISTAN) :

• First Quarter: First week of Safar.
• Half Term: First week of Jumadi-l-Uola.
• Annual: First week of Sha’baan.

VACATIONS:

The annual vacations for the students of from 10th Sha’ban to 10th Shawwaal, whereas the annual vacations for the department of Hifz-ul-Quran start from 25th Ramazan to 10th Shawwaal. More over there are holidays of ten days on Eid-ul-Adha. Friday is only weekly holiday of Darul Uloom for all the students.

DONATIONS:

Darul Uloom Islamabad is a non-profitable institution, and there is no regular means of earning. Currently the yearly expenses of all Darul Uloom are approx Pak RS.35, 00,000/-

All these expenses are met out with the help of Almighty ALLAH and then with donations and aid by the people of local community.
